Create cards for LinkedIn connections, complete with work history and interests.

Clay’s LinkedIn connection creates cards for your professional contacts, so you can take notes, set reminders, and search in Clay alongside everyone else you know.

Connecting to LinkedIn

  1. Go to
    Personal Info
    Personal Info
     on Mac or iOS
  2. Under Accounts, tap Import LinkedIn
  3. Follow the LinkedIn connect account flow

Leave Clay open while the import is taking place. Closing or quitting the app will stop the import.

After Import

Once your connections are in Clay, here are a few things to note:

  • Clay’s search ranks people according to relevance, so you don’t need to worry if you’ve connected with a bunch of people on LinkedIn whom you don’t actually know—they’ll just appear lower in search unless they’re a good match for your search terms.
  • Clay will merge contacts where possible, so if you’ve connected with someone on LinkedIn who you’ve also emailed with or texted on iMessage, they’ll only show up once.

LinkedIn will automatically reimport your contacts in the background, so you don’t have to worry about re-importing them!

What Clay Does

Clay automatically creates cards for your 1st-Degree Connections on LinkedIn. Clay will create new cards for people that you haven't interacted with using any of your existing accounts, and will merge contacts automatically when there's a high degree of confidence that the people are the same.

Clay enriches existing cards with publicly available information from LinkedIn. Up to date work and education history will be available for people you’re connected with on LinkedIn.

What Clay Doesn’t Do

Clay doesn't read your LinkedIn messages.

Clay doesn't post to your timeline or send or accept connection requests.

Clay doesn't store your account credentials.
