Creating a Card
Clay automatically creates cards for all contacts connected to your integrations. If you wish to manually add a contact that wasn't created automatically for you, you may:
On Mac and Web
- Click
New Person
at the bottom left corner.
On iOS
- Tap
Add
in the Tab bar
Under Person, you can enter:
- A name (e.g. Jane Doe)
- An email address (e.g. janedoe@gmail.com)
- A phone number (e.g. +1 123-456-7890)
- A Twitter handle (e.g. @janedoe)
- A LinkedIn URL (e.g. linkedin.com/in/janedoe)
You can also add a note straight away.
If you enter a name, Clay will create a blank card where you can add additional info. If you enter anything other than a name (i.e. email or Twitter handle), Clay will enrich that card with additional information if possible.

Clearing a Card
You can quickly remove all information from an incorrectly populated card by using the Clear Card functionality. This wipes the card so you can add the correct contact info and/or social profiles which Clay will use to gather the correct information based on your connected accounts.
How long will it take?
Depending on the email(s) and social profile(s) you submitted and what your integrations are, it can take up to a few minutes to repopulate the card. If Clay doesn't retrieve new information immediately, check back in 5-10 minutes, and it'll be up to date.
