Clay’s Microsoft Calendar connection creates contacts for event attendees and displays event-related information on cards.

Connecting to Microsoft Calendar and Email

  1. Go to App Menu in the top right, then Settings on Mac, Windows, Web, or iOS

  3. Toggle on the accounts you'd like to connect, then tap Connect
  4. Follow the Microsoft authentication flow

What Clay Does

  • Clay automatically creates contacts for people you’ve met. This includes everyone back to your first calendar event.
  • Clay surfaces people you’re meeting in the Home view. Tap on someone to view their profile. On iOS, swipe to the right to star, or swipe to the left to take a note, change the reconnect cadence, or dismiss the reminder.
  • Clay shows your meeting history with a person on their profile. You’ll see your first event with a person, and your most recent event.
  • Clay prioritizes people depending on how well you know them. Don’t worry if you have a ton of events, Clay will prioritize people you've interacted with more.
  • Clay only pulls from your primary calendar. If you don’t know what that is, it likely doesn’t apply. But if you color-code your events between different calendars on the same Microsoft account, you’ll be missing people who appear in the non-primary calendar(s).

What Clay Doesn’t Do

  • Clay doesn’t store your Microsoft credentials, like your password. Microsoft only provides a token that Clay uses to pull calendar events. We never have access to your Microsoft password.
  • Clay can’t create, modify, or delete calendar events. Literally, can’t. We request permission only for creating and enriching contacts in Clay.

FAQs

Why don't I see some events from my calendar?

Here are some of the reasons why some of your events aren't in Clay:

  • Your event hasn't happened yet - We don't support a view of your upcoming events yet but we're already working on this! In the meantime, you should see your events on your Home view at least 15 minutes before the time of the event.
  • The events are hosted by a third-party software - As long as the event belongs to the calendar, Clay will pick it up. If the event ownership is hosted through a third-party software, Clay will not pick up those events. However, we have used Zoom, Calendly, Savvy Cal, and Cal.com with success internally.
  • There are no other people in the event - Clay will also only pick up events that are associated with a contact, so not all events will pull through to your Clay account. If you have events where you're the only attendee, we won't be able to pull it into your Clay.

If the above doesn't apply to the events you're looking for, feel free to send us a message at care@clay.earth so we can take a closer look!

Why don't I see some contacts from my email account?

In order for a contact to be pulled into Clay, the first email from the thread must come from you or you should have responded to their email at least twice.
