Why does Clay for Safari require Always Allow on Every Website?
The Clay Safari extension requests the “Always Allow on Every Website” permission to function properly across supported sites.
This permission allows Clay to detect when you’re visiting websites where Clay can provide people context or enhancements, such as LinkedIn, Gmail, and any website someone in your network might be associated with. Without this setting enabled, the extension may not activate or work reliably.
What this permission does:
- Ensures the extension can run on supported sites without interruption
- Enables features like automatic contact detection and context surfacing
- Prevents repeated prompts asking for permission per site
What this permission does not do:
- Clay does not collect your browsing history
- Clay does not read or store page content outside of supported functionality
- Clay does not track activity beyond what’s needed to provide core features
This setting is a standard requirement for browser extensions that operate across multiple websites. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to send us a message.
