Why do I get two notifications for birthdays on my phone?

  • Updated

iOS, by default, sends calendar notifications for birthdays that appear in Contacts. Because Clay also sends birthday notifications, you may get one notification from iOS, via the Calendar app, and another from Clay reminding you about somebody's birthday. This usually happens if you have our CardDAV integration connected.

If you'd like to disable one or the other, here's how to manage these notifications according to your preference.

To disable iOS birthday notifications:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone
  2. Scroll down to find Apps
